About Lowndesville Baptist Church
Our History
Established in 1884, Lowndesville Baptist Church is rich with history. Nestled between beautiful lakes Secession and Richard B. Russell, Lowndesville Baptist Church sits on one of Lowndesville, SC's "Seven Hills". When LBC was first formed, the church met in the old Masonic Lodge not too far from where the church sits today. Land was donated by O.R. Horton and a church building was erected in 1887. Due to extensive structural damage caused by the effects of age, the original structure was replaced with a newer modern building in 2021.

Meet our Pastor
After being married for 27 years, Pastor Sam and Paulette O' Sheilds started a ministry together after Sam received his calling in 2009. Sam earned his Associate Degree in Religion in 2011 from Fruitland Baptist College and was then ordained at Horeb Baptist Church. He served there as pastor for 10+ years. Having a heart for his fellow pastors, Sam decided to serve as a fill-in and interim pastor for churches in need for two years. Ultimately, God called him to pastor here at LBC in 2024.
